About Us
History
Since 1997, BC Custom Timber Products has been sawing cants and timbers for the milled log home industry in both the United States and Canada. Our primary focus is providing blanks for Swedish cope profile log home manufacturers, however, we also saw products for other milled log home profiles as well as timbers for Timber Frame/Post & Beam construction. We typically carry a stock of approximately 4 million board feet in order to respond quickly to orders of particular dryness, sizes, lengths, and species. We pride ourselves in our professional approach and proven track record of a quality product delivered on time. Products
Species: Lodgepole Pine, Spruce & Douglas Fir. All species are individually sorted in our yard.
Denim Pine: As a result of the Mountain Pine Beetle epidemic in BC our Lodgepole Pine offers unique patterns of Bluestaining, hence the nickname Denim Pine.
Dryness: Not only do we sort species, but we also sort by moisture in order to cater to individual customer requirements [e.g. some prefer less checked wetter wood to split for half-log siding].
Lengths: We saw 8 to 57 foot and typically stock most lengths, with the predominant lengths being 10 to 20 foot.
Dimensions: 6"-24" with the predominant sizes being 8", 9", 10", 12", 13" & 14". Cants are sawn oversize in order to profile to an even finished size. The bulk of our product is square sizes; however we will entertain custom saw patterns.
Profile: With the majority of our products selling to Swedish Cope manufacturers, we saw most of our stock to quite waney square cants; however we do stock 6x8 and 8x8 for the D-Log manufacturer.
Character: We stock Lodgepole catface material that can be used as accents, or for the entire building.
Special Orders: Although our program is designed around random length orders, we will consider specific length and special saw pattern requests.
